The Citrus Circuit Short Film Festival
The Citrus Circuit Short Film Festival celebrates short films from independent filmmakers. Both American and international filmmakers are supported by a private judging process carried out by individuals who are familiar with the filmmaking medium.
Since January 2025, Lisa Maarek took on the role of Assistant Festival Manager and was responsible for ensuring communication with all filmmakers prior to the September 2025 event. She helped promote festival submissions, took part in the private judging process, and ensured clear communication within the CCFF Team.
The Miami Short Film Festival
The Miami Short Film Festival is committed to sharing the short film genre, and showcases national and international works. This organization aims to encourage filmmakers to share their stories with other creatives.
Lisa Maarek worked as the festival’s content creator and videographer during the three-day event in November 2024. She completed social media posts to promote the event and captured footage and photographs of the event.
FilmGate Miami
FilmGate Miami is a non-profit organization focused on empowering media artists across Florida by hosting educational, professional development, and film programs. FilmGate aims to provide exposure for local emerging creators and expand Florida’s creative economy.
During August - December 2024, Lisa remotely interned with FilmGate through communicating via email outreach for various events, creating social media posts, and was responsible for managing the website’s activity and newsletters.
